Get a 12v fan, or some sort of something you can put a bit of a load on the cell. We had a d7500, that would hold VOLTAGE, but, the second we hooked up a small fan to the posts, the voltage tanked, meaning there was a dead cell in there (or two). If it holds voltage, and can hold a load, who cares how old it is. Run it. But, i would check it before installing it. Good luck.

Yes. The flicker is nothing. You want the light to stay ON to detect noise. The lil flicker at the start of doin it, isnt what your looking for. Your looking for a constant ON, then back off a bit.

Awesome man. Like you, before I attempted the blazer build, I watched others before me,... I hear a few at like autorama 2011 or so, and I was hooked!!! Then, just said FUCK IT and dove in head first. Never used mud, never used fiber glass, had no fuckin clue what I was doin lol. Just went for it... wish you best of luck bro. Well done Ty. Man, oHHhhhhhh man does that bring back memories dude. That looks almost identical to my sdime blazer build. I also went over the top of wheel wells, with FG,... the hole 9yards. Looks sooooo familure man. Makes me itch, an sweat just looking at it. Power, when the KEY IS ON, and 0 when the key is off. A keyed power source. Any, KEY'd ON source. Like, the keyed on wire to your head unit. Same same.... Meter, set to DCvolts. Hot to the fuse or wire or whatever, Ground to metal. Is there 12v with the key off? Yes- Find another source/fuse on fuse block No- Turn key on,......... is there 12v with key on? No- Find another source/fuse on fuse block Yes- Tap into it. Enjoy

I VERY VERY RARELY, if ever, smelled my sp4 coils. Glue, sure. Never coil, and I ran a BIT more power than you currently have, to mine, for almost 5 straight years/seasons. Weird... Edit- and I got the dust caps and coil HOT. Melted the decals off at one show, and just kept on playing them. People that remember that build, know I beat the hell outta those things. And I sold them as "working" after all that. I know the dude that got em from me played them for a while. Hell, he still may be. Greg Corbin, a team mate, put a constant 6-7k clamped to his with a lot of success also. Odd..
