To answer your question yes. The adapter is 30 bucks and it does not always work on some devices. There is a chance you could get the adapter and have the device still not functions.

i went to home depot and they didnt have the screw since it was fine threaded. I got mine at ace hardware.. then after that i just made some custom terminals and called it a day
