I seem to remember my bondo separated a bit in the can, but the liquid was on top, maybe yours separated to the bottom? Just a guess.

ok so lets say his deck gos to vol 30 befor clipping he sets his amp up at vol 30 but his mids can't take the power at vol 30 so now what? his bass is nice and set before clipping but when he plays it he has to blow up his mids? you should never have to unhook speakers to do settings DD-1 = speakers unhooked, and i said test the speaker outs, if he is giving them clean power they can probably handle the 12 watts his head unit is putting out.

Look at post #11, i told you the easiest way to do this already.

it says use track 1 and 2 and use the lower volume of the two edit. well, technically it says average, but lower is better. edit 2.0 7. Now take the noted maximum volume settings from the 40Hz test and the 1kHz test and average them. This is your maximum undistorted volume setting for the headunit

O.P., Simple fix here is if you pre-outs are "rear" outs then just unhook your rear speakers and fade your head unit to rear and then set. While you are back there you may want to test your speaker outs on your head unit too. edit, use track 2, its 1khz for mids, track 1 40hz for subs Any reason the manual suggests track 1 for the test? I don't have my manual right here, but read what i just wrote.

Don't know what comments you read, but he replies to haters quite often.

Yours are in a sealed box, his are in too small of a ported box, and the ports on his box also look laking in the size department.... sealed box and ported box= nowhere near similar broski, going to have different requirements for each. I understand apples and oranges, just reaffirming the box is to blame. Since mine play well low and i know my box is built well, although not a popular style.

That's strange, I have mine in a sealed 1.25cuft enclosure and they do hit hard and play deep just fine, Well down to about 35hz which is fine because i listen to music not slowed/chopped/screwed stuff. Mine roll off above 65-70ish pretty quick. Maybe you should go 4th order?

Probably not clipping then, Like Kranny said, check grounds.

Ok, which track did you set the headunit with and which track did you set the amp with?

Does your friend think that the gain knob is a volume control?

did you sand the frame to bare metal where you grounded? And exactly how is it attached to the frame, what size bolt/nut, is there a terminal on the wire and if there is how is it connected to the wire? soldered, crimped? How about the other end of your ground wire, how is it hooked to the battery? How is the positive run hooked to front battery and rear battery? I'll be back on on the A.M. But these are the questions that need answered. You could post pics too if you want. Oh, one more thing, what kind of battery did you install in the back of the vehicle.

plus with that straight 6 and a a 3.50 gear it will pull like a mofo all day. I owned an 81 with a 300 and a 3.50 gear, hauled cars and trucks 60 miles every day to the scrap yard with a car trailer, ran 70 up and down hills no problem.

Does your head unit support wma? I believe WMA has a lossless option, i've never tried it but if you ripped cd's with that, it may help with quality. The files are probably gonna be huge though Edit. I just tried ripping with WMA lossless. a 3:25 song was 25MB

in drag racing the theory is every 100lbs you can get rid of is the same as adding 10hp. It works the other way too. Do the math. It doesn't actually take away hp, Just that the HP is wasted moving the extra weight.

Are you talking about a car battery charger? i don't trust them. Maybe a charger hooked to a car battery hooked to the amp.
