18abVFL
I'm really trying to figure out what i should do when i upgrade this summer. I'm diggin the audioques ALOT. The question is, which subs to get. My amp is a T500-1bdcp that does over 800 at 1 ohm. I'm either thinking Two SDC2.5 12s in 4cu/f at 33hz or One HDC312 in 3(ish) cu/f at 33hz Basically what i'm looking for is very loud bass that will make everything blur and i still wanna maintain decent sq. I KNOW i will be underpowering whatever i get, but i seriously plan on grabbing a AQ1200d later on down the road. My Fosgate is just too new, too fresh and WAY TOO distortion free, even when being generous with the gain knob. Not to mention, i really enjoy how shiny it is hahahaha. So which sub(s) should i go with?? Supercharged DCs
Two SDC2.5s if you plan on getting a Aq1200, one HDC3 if you plan on putting more power than the Aq1200 though. The HDC is rated at 1000rms. Do you really think it could handle alot more that the sds?? canderton01
^^ agree, an AQ1200 would be more than adequate for a single HDC to get down. People need to stop having the mentality that you need to have an amp with 2-3x the RMS that your sub is rated. Yes headroom is nice but it's not necessary. To the OP, if you have a decent amount of room in your ride, I'd do 2 SDC 12's. The HDC is rated at 1000rms. Do you really think it could handle alot more that the sds?? I've seen the HDCs take an Aq2200 with no problems whatsoever. The reason I'm suggested what I did is because if it was me I would like to get the most out of my setup. If say I had a AqHDC3, I would want to give it 2k+ (clean power of course) to get the full potential out of it. Going with the HDC3 on a Aq 1200 leaves room for upgrades as well, and we all want to be louder Plus the two 12" SDC2.5s will have double the cone area of one 12" HDC3, so if you plan on running the same power to both setups then the SDC2.5s have more potential to get loud. ChevyBoy95
I've talked to AQ before and they said the 2200 would fit nicely with the hdc3. If you get the alum it can take 2-3k.
