I hate that too...I just cut the old male or female end off the stock speakers and use that to wire in the new ones. Looks so much cleaner and they work better. Although, I did convince someone today. So my efforts are not in vain! I could pull one of his terminals off by hand. I gave him one of my terminals and some tools and said "try to get it off." So he put the thing in a bench vice and pulled as hard as he could. The wire came out of the vice and he smacked himself in the head. Honestly, depending on the length of the wire, I could almost pull the wire out of the sleeve when it soldered.
