I havent personally tried it.. Cause i dont have my subs yet. But back when i had the SSD 12 i demoed with the driver door close window down and passenger side window up... I dont understand why cause i thought it would make it louder?

But does it make a big difference when opening the driver side door and passenger door? assuming opening the driver side would make the truck like a box turning it into a 4th order(i believe)

So what do i have to do to make my truck louder open the driver side door when it demos?? or just test i forsee that being said.

For those that do this does it make a huge difference for the passenger? cause thats who im after

You know how you avoid that? Man the fuck up and bang her best friend sister mom cousin worst enemy and never look back.

JUST SAY ANTI-AUDIOPIPE

i know for me its louder when i open the driver door (and i have a baby system)

edit:

and to answer your question i would say yes since with the door open all the sound waves are free to move as they please

In my experience, the lower the frequency, the more opening the door will gain you...i base this off TL readings..i havent paid as much attention to the ear....play a 30hz note sealed up and then open the door, you will likely see what im talking about

depends on frequency, wavelength, and cabin acoustics.

Getting bass into the cabin of a W124 mercedes is impossible.

Current setup:

Pretty much what has been said. Some people have very little difference no matter what configuration or open closed. Some a major. Mines louder sealed above 38hz but louder windows open below.

itll depend on quite a few things as to which combo is loudest for you such as

port placement

quarter wave

tuning in respect to said quarter wave etc etc

i don't rock huge subs or nothing. i putt around with 8's 10's and 12's right now but i noticed that when they're in a sealed box, it doesn't get much louder but when you port it then open the window.i had 1 12 in Fosgate in a ported box in the back of a suburban. got hella loudr when i opened the back doors to sport it off to all my buddies.
