Only if you really feel the need to do it, you can do it if you want, but it won't matter. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for. Step 4: Profit But in all seriousness, you want to make sure it is mounted perfectly so nothing rubs against the baffle, and you want to switch the phase. Don't most amps come with a phase knob, where you can turn between 0 and 180 degrees? Seems to me you would just turn it to 180 degree, but I may be wrong. SnowDrifter Posted July 4, 2011 Report Share Posted July 4, 2011 WARNING: EXTREMELY IN DEPTH GUIDE 1. Remove the sub 2. Unhook the positive wire 3. Unhook the negative wire 4. Invert the sub 5. Align the screw holes 6. Make sure the surround doesn't rub on the box 7. Screw in the sub 8. Pause and admire how cool an inverted sub looks 9. Attach the POSITIVE wire from the amp to the NEGATIVE terminal on the sub 10. Attach the NEGATIVE wire from the amp to the POSITIVE terminal on the sub 11. Get excited 12. Remember that you gained some airspace 13. Flick through your iPod to play a song with some low notes to see if they are any louder 14. YEA cause what you are saying is that it does not madder what the polarity is on a speaker when in a box... when u get board go out side and flip your polarity and tell me that you can not hear the difference... than come write back...
