You can post all you want, tell him everything scientifically why P&S doesn't work or isn't a valid solution, but if they are unwilling to listen it's all for no good. You can lead an idiot to the truth, but you can't make him think. His logic is also flawed. He covers the damn thing 100% (even doubled up in a few areas when he's applying it). Apply a small 5" x 6" rectangle (sign looks to be 10" x 12") of a high quality sound deadening material and take a listen. It'll not only sound better, but required a hell of a lot less.
