So take it easy. I didnt match the grain perfect, and I noticed the imperfections in the veneer were NOT visible until I put the stain on, go figure lol. 3/4" 12 ply Red Oak Extra Thick Veneer Double face plate ~ 3.0 Cubes after displacement 30 Hz tuning 15in^2 port area per cubic foot 3/8" Routed edges Minwax Antique Oak Stain (2 coats) Premium Poly (used on basketball courts etc. Got it from work) 4 coats About 4-5 hours of sanding before the stain and between coats. Locking T-nuts used with lock washers for the sub (not pictured) Assembled with only 4 screws, extreme duty liquid nails was used for the construction. Inside was glassed after the pics were take 8 AWG wire was used with bolt terminals And here are the results: For size comparison, this is a memphis 15 on top of it. I liked it. Sounds excellent, and it is every bit as strong as Birch ply. So if you want to go for a different look, try the Oak ply if it is 12+ ply. So it was a no brainer. Thanks CJ! **Update** I forgot to mention the inside was glassed last night. Just did a single thick coat. And I added a bolt set for the terminals. Also has 8 awg wire for the speaker wires.
