bassrace Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 Well I have a few 06' 15" L7 motors and I've been wanting to learn how to do recones and all soo I figured I'd grab a 12" basket and a recone( the new recone will be round) just to do a recone and maybe have a decent sub. My question is are they 2.5" coil motors? idk how to measure it to know... I have the motors and an old coil right here. Any help is appreciated. I just want to make sure they're for 2.5" coils before I grab a basket and recone. But it'd be a better idea to get a set of calipers since I think l7s gap is weird or their bolt pattern for the basket. Idr which one. I know Dave at psi made one and it was given away so you could call and talk to him

Sooo idk if that's as bad as it sounds to me or not, maybe someone smarter can chime in on that one. But fixmyspeaker told me 125$ for new basket and recone this morning so I think I might give it a try.. Oh I'm pretty sure L7's have a little bigger size coil than 2.5" on my tape it's around 2.6" that was why I was worndering if you measure the inner diameter of the coil or the outer diameter.
