Rusty when you get that cone back please be sure to let us know what was messed up with it if you can. it only did a 123 on an saz4500 @ 2ohm

and before anyone blames the box, electrical, fuse etc we dropped a crossfire in it and it was doing low 40s. same circumstances

we tried the DC without fuses for a "shiggles" PP5 run and besides the fact that it was ridiculously quiet it blew up

we then dropped in a Crossfire sub which had never been used and it did well.

id just like to know is all. it surprised me as i have heard many XLs and none seemed as pathetic as this one did.

so please no one get angry with me for stating this. in the interest of science i want to know what the failure point was

I as well would like to know my first xl I had was a beast beat the hell out of it and took everything I gave it and played everything.

Who knows, I dident do the recone or install and because the sub is now blown up there will probly never be a way to tell. I wasnet there. To do a 123db on a 4500 sounds like something was severly wrong with whatever it was. I was burping Anas rex with 2Xl 10s off a clamped 11,000 watts plus all weekend long soooo.. ya idk

I had bud ballinger recone it he has been competing for around 6 years and has a van that does 160's he knows what he's doing. That's why I had him do it. But rusty I just dropped it of at ups so mine is on it's way back to you.

Nice to see DC Audio step up and handle this for the guy, seems to be good CS from them. I just wish people weren't so sensitive about people posting when bad things happen too. I mean, it happens, I don't see the point in praising when good things happen but keeping the bad things that happen on the hush. It kind of paints a false picture ya know. I don't think any rational person is going to decide not to do business with a company just because they made a mistake, especially when said mistake gets handled the very next business day! If anything, I think that will build said persons confidence in dealing with the company when he see's the level of customer service he's gonna get should something go wrong. If you hide all the bad stuff that happens then by default you're also hiding the excellent CS the company gives when they correct it.
