if you dont have kids you would never udnerstand this. Thats your flesh and blood. You created that child. I could never wail away on my daughter. Not one swing. There are other ways to raise your child than to hit them. I used to think there was nothing wrong with what happened in taht video because thats how I grew up but I realized that after having my child I could make a difference without having her live in fear. not only that but the kid has Cerebral palsy. AND that could have been caused by the abuse on the mother at that. This guy has issues.

I watched the video and wasn't that shocked. The amount of hitting that went on doesn't seem crazy to me, but that is why we have laws which govern what is and what is not legal. People like me shouldn't judge because I honestly believe that the ass kickings I got as a kid kept me on the straight and narrow (I was hit with all sorts of shit). Out of all the times I pushed it and got whooped I'm 100% positive that some of those instances would have resulted in some of my family getting locked up today, but in those instances it did teach me a lesson ones which I remember to this day.

When I see shit like this, stuff that isn't over the top crazy, it's hard for me not to compare it to how I grew up and while I was whooped I think it was effective, deserved, and a useful tool. Just to clarify I'm not saying I got my ass beat on a regular basis, but on extremely rare occasions (like almost burning down the house in the middle of the night) it went to another level.

america as a whole is dumbing down the way we can discipline our kids.. and its wrong... there is a difference between beating the fuck out of a child/young adult, and disciplining them, this was a discipline act, not a beating....

Father of 2. Just saying. I see nothing wrong, but neither am I saying every parent needs to beat their child. I'm saying every parent does what they think is right. I lol'd, and my dad took a belt to my ass a few times, but that just isnt right, repeatedtly hitting someone with a belt, and noone took the time out to realize she was the one who got it on video, it must have been an ongoing thing if she wanted to get it on video...amirite?

okay first off. i do think this was a bit excessive.. but i dont think that this was pure child abuse.

ive gotten my ass beat several times. but it was only when i really screwed up. my old man is pretty intimidating.

however as i watched i noticed he never tried to actually hit her in the face or any other place. which definitely would have struck me for child abuse.

im not a parent. im still pretty young but i do plan on being a father that my kids will respect. ive seen some of my friends who had parents who never punished them like mine did. ive been fairly active in positive things like baseball and other sports. but im thankful for the ass whoopin my father gave me as a kid to keep me in line.

i 100% agree with disciplining your child. even if it comes down to having to crack them on the ass a few times.

and by the way somethin'...my kids arent perfect and they arent angels......2 of them are teenage and pre-teenage boys. They piss me off on a daily basis. You CAN raise a child without beating the shit out of them. Ive made it through 19 years of being a parent and never had to beat my kids.

I really cant say anything because im only 16 but a beat down is fucked up... i think kids are more materialistic.. Becuase i know people that beat there kids as a discipline and it dont help at all they still fail school and get in trouble daily... It makes them aggressive... I was never touched. But anytime i brought home a C on my Report card. I go t yelled at and groundedfrom my tv for a week or so. But when i get in trouble other times my parents take my shit.
