michigancapri92
ok so im starting to pick out the curcuit breakers i will use for my car and i know i need a 200A for my 1500-dbcp and a 150 for my 600-2 , i will be running a d3400 in the back only and should i have one for the wire that goes to the starter and main fuse box or no ? and i will be running a 200A alternator so does this mean i would need a 200A breaker for that ? and would i put that close to the alt or to the battery ? and also my main engine fuse in the fuse holder is an 80A fuse do i need to upgrade that because of the Alt or not ? MrSkippyJ
always fuse for what the wire can handle, not the equipment attached to the wire. The fuse protects the wire, not the equipment. Why are you messing with your starter wire? cjN
i've used a circuit breaker before as a fuse, worst thing i've ever seen, always popped my kicker 4 channel into protect, and iirc it was a 140amp. Kranny
circuit breakers suck if you keep tripping them. after a few times, they will keep tripping on lower and lower loads.
Bmike
circuit breakers can fail, i would recommend not using them, plenty of other people here will agree.
