Got a "damaged package" deal on this gauge. Normally $200-230 range, paid $75. The LED kits I ordered a while ago finally came. jk13 Posted December 8, 2015 Report Share Posted December 8, 2015 Genuinely curious--has anyone seen documentation on the legality of the LEDs? I know the law against using HIDs is two-fold: 1) Light source power must equivalent to OEM power source. (HIDs run ballasts so the lights themselves aren't running on 12V). 2) Spray pattern. HID vs. halogen housings use two very different test panels for certification. (I've never found the written law on this but the Federal agents that gave us the "Cease and Desist" order against selling them mentioned it). Cool stuff, congrats Ken. Just thinking as I've seen a few vendors come through with them. All labelled "off road use only" and nobody can give me a definitive answer. Static drops are my bag.
