A lot of people don't realize that you can work on your vehicles cabin with sound deadening, reinforcing and sealing and gain more spl than if you were to triple the power. Heck current top extreme vehicles can do 160's from 15-20 watts so the sky is the limits with your cabin tweaks. I understand no one will ever reach an extreme builds efficiency but we can get close enough in daily driven vehicles that we don't need a lot of power to meet our needs on music. Every time I read about another vehicle build I see aspects that us old pioneers founded and tested long hours to learn.
