But from what I've read, the tuning range varies from box to box. Ram should be able to tell you how low & high you can play safely. Decaf Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Djsnt usually states frequencies in each song. Even with a dd-1 u can clip ur amp by dropping voltage or by playing a song louder than the tone used when setting gain with dd-1. Also, with a ported box the sub moves the least at and around tuning, so lots of power while the sub is barely moving can heat a coil up quick. Playing below tuning can really start to cause problems not only thermally but mechanically as well.
