skittlesRgood
What about these? Im curious what everyone says, I have no personel experience but a bunch of people on another forum claim to have had good luck with them...Im thinking about trying them but mainly to keep water off those go on the wall behind the speaker to disperse the back wave from the speaker. it wont keep water off a speaker... and it wont really help with midbass. Try taking some egg shell foam, like for a bed stuffing it into where midbass goes....I will CA glue it in alot of times also very good...I do here sometimes and it works great... open celled foam inside of an enclosed space that is made to let water run through it? horrible idea. the foam will mold. same thing with the polyfill idea Not if done properly, I've done it to my car and other SQ cars with no problem....they are custom door door panels, no moisture should get in there anyway.... windows will always get water into them. through the window. If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood. Skullz
Not all drivers are created equal in midbass performance and can vary wildly from speaker to speaker, i just got the ppi pc3.65's and they lack midbass horribly whereas my hertz 165's just pump it out with authority. Now i have 1 layer of deadener on the outer door skin and 2 layers on the inner door skin with some on each door panel for reference, another thing is to isolate the speaker from the door with some mdf rings so you get a good seal with the speaker. I ran across this vid a bit ago and not sure if you want to do kicks but you can get an idea on what doing a set might sound like. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
armykyle1
I read the posts for the most part. In my door panels that I built temp. Worked ok, but I added polly fill behind them and it made a good diff. I have 1/2 ply wood on the door, with build up spacers, then 1 1/2 spacers on the 6.5s. I have a video but its uploading. Sealing up doors has made the best results other than making pods. But most comp 6.6s are made for IB. Bump4life
You mean the speaker baffle things like this? i currently have that in my front doors. seems to just keep speakers dry. maybe a slight in crease in sq but def not giving any midbass. thus i went out and got 2 DD w6.5 drivers. just what i needed. AI James
your doors are rather easy to get decent midbass out of, been there and done that with a single 3 way set of Audison Voce 3 way comps. Seal the door properly deaden them properly, meaning inner and outer panels and the door card itself seal all the voids in your door properly as well. There should be no issue whatsoever getting midbass from those year mustang doors.
