Yellow is likely constant. But then again many overseas products use red for constant. Blue is likely metered value. Okay so.. is the constant the wire I am hooking up to the power input on the amp? and when you say metered value you're saying what it is measuring voltage of? E34 540iT/6

ktraughb Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 Yeah blue I mean to hook up along with the power source at your amplifier. Some need nothing more than that, but some require another actual power input which would be a constant, and id hook that up further before your amp. Ground I would tap into whatever is already grounded close to where it will be displayed. I know how these goofy little things are. Like I said though, if I don't know the colors for sure, I cut the wires, put female insulated quick disconnects on the ends where I cut, then place atc fuse in between. Helps protect the product just in case.

Knowing computers that yellow will be your (12v constant)B+ and the red should be what you want to meter, black is ground, and blue should be the switch input as stated above. Hell, think of it the same was as wiring a head unit.

cal Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 that is a weird meter . i agree to wire it like a head unit but to be honest if its a real cheap meter just get a stinger one and do the install once.
