AMI CUSTOMS
That's a Tough one. Are we talking less than 12"? Let's say 12 inches but it would be 4 1/0 powers and grounds, dual inputs with dual inputs. POPLERO
Every anl type fuse I have had melts rather than pops, and leaves a melted mess everywhere.. I was thinking circut breakers but can't find good high amp ones. All my 0gauge and 4 gauge wires have fuses except my big 3 up front. n8ball2013
the only time Ive seen an ANL fuse melt was due to a bad connection. Dan2427
I dont fuse my AQ20 but my battery bank is less than 2 inches from the amp physically. My longest run is probably 24 to 30 inches tho. I bought all the fuses and fuse holder and was advised not to fuse since there so close together. I frequently check for rubbing tho and the wires are all ziptied. Would you guys reccomend fusing the wires? CJ18
I have my 12k fused but do not have my 4 channels fused. My thing is that you have to make sure that you use the proper amp fuses. If your amp calls for 1 300a fuse and you have dual inputs with 1 200a fuse on each then the fuses become worthless to me, the amp would see t00 much amperage before the fuses pop and you would still have the problem. Skullz
I used to but no longer use fuses after a few close calls with melted plastic fuse blocks. I just take better precautions now than i did using fuses now, plus every time you have a cut in the wire you add resistance and a possible point for problems. The biggest mistake i see people do is laying wire on engines with no loom or other protection and they're looking for a fire under the hood, which for them they had best use fuses or lose a car due to bad installation.
