kraz1021 Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 yea then that power acoustic 6000watt says 250 fusing so wayy underatted the 6000 watts is the peak power.if you look at the specs on the amp the rms says 3500 watts(which is probably at like 16 volts or something).never pay attention to peak power ratings on amps or subs as they are pretty much useless and pretty much used as a selling point.rms rating is what you should look at

It is rated at 3000 watts rms @ 1 ohm, and it requires 300 amps of fusing. It's fusing agrees with the rated output claims. Now let's look at the Power Acoustik BAMF5500. It claims to do 3200 watts rms @ 1 ohm, but it only has 200 amps of fusing. I would say that there is no way it would ever put out more than 2200 watts at any given time simply due to the manufacturer's fusing. 87regal Posted January 23, 2012 Report Posted January 23, 2012 The AQ will do 2200 rated rms no problem, but the Hifonics won't do 3000 rated rms but around 2200 rms like stevog says. Companies like to overrate their amps so they can trick un-imformed people into buying it. We are trying to inform you so you don't get disappointed. Yeah, with no voltage drop. Still not a bad choice. db-r has the sax-1200d refurb and b-stock for around that price.

Also if you're looking at getting a second battery for the back do NOT get a battery that isn't sealed, ie if it has openings to add water don't put it in your car, it'll vent toxic gas as it works. BallzFast Posted January 23, 2012 Report Posted January 23, 2012 for the hell of it i bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/180774564315 we put it in a friends caddy trunk hooked to a single extra battery,dd 3510 in a custom box. we clamped it doing over 1300wrms at 2.3 ohm. it has 150a fusing so i was thinking it would be 1500-2000w max. so for $175 i got a cheap amp that does decent power. on a side note- there is no way i would put one in my truck.lol 03 Santa Fe E A 200 amp alt,JVC AVX840,kenwood 6.5 fr speakers,eclipse 6.5 rears,mids/high amp XTA-2160, sub amp XTA-5000d,0 guage throughout,batts-front/1 batcap 2000,rear/ batcap4000,2 C&D Dynasty agms, subs 2 DC XL M1 15"s in a music box tuned to 28hz....for now.
soundstream15 Posted January 23, 2012 Report Posted January 23, 2012 if anything get a soundstream amp, i got the audioque 1200d and that amp is soooo amazing, deff puts out more then 1200rms..but just look into the hifoncis brutus series, they will do rated..but just fyi my friend had the brz1700 and my amp blew it away..i was surpised to be honest lol
