And i still need an addy of where to send this piece i auctioned off. That's the way I'm leaning too....Someone who KNOWS they can benefit from it, but has no way of getting it due to the expense. I know we are going to find the perfect person for this.....together! What about keeping it in the Smd fam? I know out of so many people here, Someone has got to have a special needs family member in need of a bike. I have a little brother that i would of loved to pick this up for but i don't have any extra money to spend on things right now, I would like you guys to consider him in your vote to where this bike goes, I can give a little backround on my fam if you want to know more about what's going on at the moment just let me know. I think you should definitely tell us all about him, his disability, how old is he...his height and weight...etc... Nine8SST Posted January 29, 2012 Author Report Posted January 29, 2012 So....I didn't even think about this happening, but then again I tend to look past the "bad" in people and the truth is that I generally believe deep down that everyone is a good person....Yes, I have been burned a few times by having too much trust in people, but I just cant let that effect the way I am as a person.... Anyway, I got an email from a guy asking if I would donate the bike to him so that he could sell it and use the money to fix his car, and he kinda laid down a guilt treatment about how so many people have been generous to me and that I should be generous to him...LOL, he didn't even have a kid, he just wanted money.....I'm not even sure if he is a member here or not, if he is he didn't mention it..... So, I know this goes without saying to the majority of people, but I'm gonna say it anyway.... I know myself and 99% of the people here want to see this trike go to a kid who can genuinely benefit from it the way my daughter has....we are not going to give it to someone who is just going to turn around and sell it and do whatever with the money....I could have done that myself, thats not the point of all this. For a person with CP or similar disabilities this bike can be the difference between being able to walk and being confined to a chair....I know for a fact that the only reason Jazz can walk, albeit not far without some help or needing to rest, is because of all the therapy she is in and all the movement she gets. I have seen the benefit first hand, yes she falls alot and over the past year it has gotten a bit worse, but she still can walk and be mobile to a certain extent. My point is, this will be something that positively touches the life of someone who would not otherwise be able to afford it. With that being said, just because I may not be able to recognize a "scam"....does not mean someone else wont. I'm not gonna name drop here, but there are several people here in this forum who have my back, and have a certain ability to track people and get info....I have no doubt that if someone tries to pull something shady they will be able to recognize it.
