AUDIOADDICT02
A bit of black basecoat mixed with urethane clear did it for me, as for a factory look, like slamminbeats said, colorsand & buff to eliminate any texture from the surface. IBleedMusick
VHT night shades worked great for me. mine are black when not lit All you had to do was apply the VHT no clear coat or anything else? I may pick up a can and try it out but want to make sure I have everything to get it done right the first time. Some ppl put clear coats on. I might in the future. I need to lighten up the parking light section lol. Cutdeluxes1
I've used Vht on about 10 different cars, brake and head lights. Wet sand with 1500 grit, tape off whatever you don't want to tint. 1-3 coats( 3 or more will be really dark and illegal in certain states). Wet sand with 2000 grit and buff with rubbing compound. Takes about 30 mins. Would suggest though after they dry from the paint, let cure for 24 hours before you wetsand and buff. Had better results for me. And the last wetsand and buff is not nessecary if you don't want to, just makes it smoother and glossier IMO.
voxigenboy
i just finished hand sanding some tail lights. went from 220 -> 320 -> 600 -> 2000 grit. freakin' took like 3 hours before i decided they were ok. going to continue tomorrow as the sun's going down and my hands hurt. sayhuh?
I did VHT with no clear coat and it worked great, but I will say, clear may not be a bad thing. Mine started to fade pretty quick. Not sure if the clear would have prevented that or not. Quote Blown

punkrockprs
i used to use regular spraypaint in my highschool days but now if i want to smoke lights i use vht nightshades. kept getting pulled over cause the spraypaint was too dark.. right now i have no tint on any of my lights but when i get my truck im going to black out everything using vht nightshades.
