2 8's just aren't going to move much air at 20Hz, and like mentioned already, at 17Hz below tuning you'll probably hurt the subs.

get some cone area and you'll move air...

ive seen T-line DD 8's get really deep and really loud..My local audio store has the DD8's in a t-line box as a show case for there box builds.I dont know if its the 8's or the T-line box,but they rattle that big ass store more then my 2 12's in my van

It's the combination of a T-Line, which is the best box for a sub, and the fact that DD make some great ass subs.
