It is a first amendment right and you shouldnt get a ticket. What does the pink slip say? Is it a ticket or just a written warning? (Happened to my friend, lady at the courthouse literally loled when he tried to pay it)

On the other hand you had to have said it pretty loud or the cop weaseled his way to get you to tell him you said something offensive.

if i were you id hope for a court date cops never show in minnesota , and i would definatly fight it freedom of speach is freedom of speach id go into court and say i was singin along to a song an got really into it lol , then ofcourse find a song with those as lyrics and bring it in as evedence once pulled onto the highway in a new car and a cobalt got on my ass so i flipt em off lights started flashing turned out to be an undercover , told him i was uncomfertable with how close he was to me and there is freedom of speach he waas pist but he let me go

why would you worry about your insurance going up its not a traffic ticket... and even if it was it wasn't your car so its on his insurance not yours

the pink slip is like the 3rd piece of the ticket (my copy) it just says what offense and the number and my name.

if its like the same when i got tickets in the states its public record and all the "fix it ticket" clinics will spam your mail box with law advertisement

Seems to me if you got a pink slip it's a written warning, had you gotten the white one it would have been a real ticket with a real court date on it along with him telling you to your face to appear in court but i would still go to the court and show it to a clerk to make absolutely certain on what to do. Make sure as a back-up to take a fair amount of cash to pay anything in case it does go to court and you have to pay.
