Quest to reach 150db+!

So right now i have 2 15" L7s in a 9cf box tuned @ 31hz on a zx2500.1 its loud but not exactly "omg loud" to me. I just blew one of those l7s anyway, and if i can get a replacement i'm selling those pos subs. and im selling the amp too.. now i'mm guessing those were playing in the mid 140s musically. my next system, i'm wating to get 2 audioque hdc3 or hdc4 18" and get the audioque 3500.1 amp. Id like to save all the money i can, i heard people can put 2k rms on those hdc3s, but i just want to be safe and not blow another sub. the box i would go with would be a 12cf for both 18s, and tune to 31hz. the car is a 2000 model oldsmobile bravada.. so will 2 aq 18s, and that amp hit 150 on music?

oh and yeah it was pretty damn harsh, idk if i was clipping i couldnt hear distortion until they got really low, the distortion wasnt that bad though. my gain was set fine, and the bass boost was a lil over half. i didnt exactly break them in though, from the day i got them i started slamming them. they always had a smell to them, i knew it wasnt good but i kept bumpin then one day "pop" goes 1 15. smoke started coming out the port. lol

if you hit <140 with that system your doing something wrong.

if you are serious about hitting 150 with the 2 18s id go out and get a term lab, and $500 worth of wood, nails, glue etc. and just go to town.

I am doing a 143.3 on 2 1200.1's wired at 2ohms and 4 12's p3 rockford fosgates on music and a 144.9 burp so I'm going to say a 140 on 2 15's is doable, but the quest for a 150 is pretty hard on music.

did a 143.9 with 1 t2 12s and a t1500.1bdcp at 1ohm using an iasca bass cd at a comp here in alaska with only an added battery and 10 farad rockford cap, dont see why 2 18s cont do a 150 on music if done right.

no one in alaska has a termlab from what ive found so far but im told the meter used is only about 1db high compared to a termlab. i dont remember the meter brand right now though team ht on here would have more info on the meter most likely he has used it and does know more then me on this subject.
