tommyk90
this is an april fools joke right? damn No sir, it is not. Thank you to whoever posted my video over here. I'm trying to get the word out about this tragic build. Here's the few pics I took in the daylight the next day that will also show you just how bad this install is. Up first is the 5th 4500. If anybody remembers, I actually asked JP where the amp was in his build thread since it wasn't in the back. He told me it was "hiding". Well, this is where it was hiding That's right. It was UNDER the box. Not only was it under the box with no airflow, IT WASN'T EVEN MOUNTED DOWN!! Whenever the truck moved, the amp moved. Turn left, amp moved. Turn right, amp moved. Hit a bump, amp moved. Turn up the bass, amp moved. This even begs the question if the amps were even gain matched. Doubtful because who even knows if they were all hooked up! Next pic is also great. That, my friends, is one of the rear chassis grounds. Let me point out several problems. Problem #1: The metal wasn't sanded down Problem #2: They used a shitty self-tapping screw Problem #3: You'll have to wait for the video for that one. Next up, Speaker wire fiasco. Lord have mercy. Yes, that is LIVE speaker wire (for the horns underneath the truck) that is ZIP TIED TO THE BRAKE LINE AND REAR AXLE. To make it even better, it is also zip tied to the sway bar and eventually the leaf springs. WHO DOES THIS?!?! I'll tell you who, the same person who does THIS: Hey, we ****ed up the rear wiring, why not the front too! Speaker wire UNDER the lower control arm and zip tied to it as well. This is on both sides. How can anyone think this would be a good idea??? Last but certainly not least, check out the "custom" mounted rear horns. Zip ties FTW! This is as serious as it gets. Something needs to be done about this. I'm officially renaming "King of Bass Customs" to "King of Zip Ties Customs". This is the kind of work they do when they have a vehicle for 7 MONTHS?!?! On a side note, if the pics go down its because I've exceeded my photobucket bandwidth for the month. I got a warning a few days ago (before these threads!) about being close so it might happen! corey0928
Even if people don't like JP I still don't think its right that this happened. I don't know one person on this forum that would pay even a 1/100 of that price and be happy with shitty work. My lawyers would definitely be getting a phone call after that one. Daniel Brill-Edwards
Surely this is going to cause issues with sponsorships (which I have no idea how he got it the first place seeing as he hardly knows about car audio). They won't want their products attached to a heap of junk install like this. baron_of_bass
I've heard kob didn't even build his nissan. After being on the fourms for so long you'd think jp would try to build his own truck up. There is enough info here for us to learn how to do things on our own, and do things right way at that. That's why I'm greatful my friends introduced me to fourms years ago. Hope this is the last time he rebuilds. Team Bass-Hz
