soundstream15
my box i currently have is great but the port inside the box is alittle loose so i was gonna buy silicone and redo the inside of the box, but idk if i should use silicone or caulk? if i go over the edges n that will it make a difference? also is there any type of screws that hold the sub tighter to the box then using dry-wall screws. thanks
Sanitarium
if the box was built right, a light sealant like that is not needed. My vote is to just rebuild the box.

ALPINE408
Ya its called wood glue And if you want better screws then dry wall try deck screws Quote Have you ever had your woofers blown?
Smoove
I am a fan of liquid nail for gluing and sealing a box. There are others why will say fiberglass the with mat for sealing. both work well. And no going over the edges will not hurt anything. soundstream15
so deck screws are better to use then drywall screws? i just feel like dry-wall screws come loose and dont get that tight
Keith77
Dry-wall screws are meant for dry-wall. Use wood screws. Edited April 3, 2012 by Keith77 Quote Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born. My penis is bigger than your penis I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle. SojiaRaggs9000
I've always like using Liquid Nails "for wood" it has a resin mixture in it. Works well and holds fine imo. But thI've used some SOUDAL INC T-REX CAULK before and that stuff was great. I got it from Ace Hardware.... I tried to used some pieces off of a box that I used this on and I had to take a sledge hammer to it to break it apart. The glue held but the wood broke haha.
