Hey, I have a lot of pics sometimes. I have a lot to post now, just not going to do it tonight. I'm about to go watch walking dead and eat dinner, FINALLY, AT 8:30 AT NIGHT!! I'm gone, good night. Jamie, I think you told me about the mystery box, but I think it's been too long. Can't wait to see it!

Oh btw, if you can, trunk lid works. But you're gonna need strong actuators. Speaking of, I need to go order some new ones. 350lb force should do the trick! SMH!

First off, we have this bare fiberglass panel which I've been contemplating for months.

556-subsloaded1_zps8b6dfca4.jpg

Many thanks to my Fiancee for trying out some vinyl sewing for the panel so I don't have to super stretch the material over some of the complex corners.

Here's a couple pics of the loose material which get wrapped around the panel with a sewed area to fit in the middle:

586-heathertest2_zps0e75b1c1.jpg

Her sewing machine wasn't strong enough to properly handle this kind of material so some of the stitching was uneven.

Although the fit was pretty good, it wouldn't have been up to either of our desires.

So I found a small family upholstery business that I took the panel to along with my fabric to let them handle it ;)

Right back to the same area:

Back when I designed this box I thought the area around the subs was a little bare. The plain white paint wasn't enough.

Sooo I brainstormed a metal trim piece around the subs. Problem being, I didn't have the tools, or skills, to cut the perfect circles that I was interested in.

I saw all the great stuff Toolmaker was doing so I contacted him and asked if he could fabricate the part for me.

As you may have seen from the previous pics lately, there is a string of LED's around the front of the subs.

Along with the metal trim piece, I wanted to add some subdued illumination as well so I added some plexi under the metal which worked out to be a chunk of brushed aluminum.

I'll do another update on how all this came together so we can get right to the good stuff :D

Enough of the descriptions, lets just dive into the pics (a LOT of 'em):

More with the illumination coming.....

BTW, anybody notice the shape formed into the trim piece? ;)

I have some vids but the quality is a bit grainy and dark. I'll see what I can do.

BTW, yes there is a small gap in between the aluminum panel and the vinyl cover where a bit of light leaks though. Working on closing that gap.

Sorry for the excess of pics, but I really dig how the whole thing came together and couldn't decide which ones to cut out....
