79 cutty Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 You actually get more flavor out of that rosemary by pan searing in a cast iron skillet and basting the steak with the juices/fat as it cooks and the rosemary on the steak that way. Dwn4BassAlan Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 best steaks I ever had were some home made ones. One of the doctors at my moms hospitals was like a real chef or something on the side. I can't remember all of it, but I know they had been in a fridge that had been like cleaned out with something (I want to say bleach but that sounds kinda odd) and then only the steaks were in there, wrapped with a bunch of stuff, then he cooks them a certain way with some special herbs/spices bottle they get from italy or greece, whatever it is it's good. Little more preparation than I would probably ever do for myself, but I can't deny it's greatness if done right.... Everytime I see a guy driving a mini cooper I cant help but think he loves cock & (2/29/16)-My wife just bitched at me about throwing out things we don't really use. My response of well we don't really use your vagina so should we throw that out was evidently not the right response. I had to leave the room. I missed Alan. RIP 5/29/15 - I love you son.

79 cutty Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 I was all about finding some authentic wagyu steaks til I saw the price Oh they definitely aren't affraid to stick you for some of the prices on ingredients like that. Paying for some of the top dollar high end stuff you can really notice a difference, however, I will say that I have cooked with some of the highest end ingredients, as well as the other end of the spectrum, and I'd say if you prepare/cook your produce/proteins properly, let them sit and rest after cooking to redistribute moisture, I'd honestly say 95% of people couldn't tell the difference between high end and middle of the road ingredients. I really found this to be true in liquor/champagne.....funny how people rave about crystal.....tastes the same as a $40 bottle of champagne to me. Just that people want to brag about top dollar stuff. Firm believer in letting my cars do my talking! You can't rush quality, it doesn't happen overnight.
