ghostismyname Posted June 21, 2012 Report Share Posted June 21, 2012 my brothers 89 ranger does the same, accept only when the subs amp is in, rpm`s drop almost enough to stall the truck because his alt cant keep up, i dont know if thats ur problem but it sounds like it. Oh and thats in park too, if it was coasting, it would probably stall (idk for sure but i think coasting rpm`s are lower then when in park) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

alaskanzx5 Posted June 21, 2012 Report Share Posted June 21, 2012 i would guess there is a short between the speedo and hu somewhere. bass hits, draws power from hu, hu draws power from car. if there is a short somewhere in thespeedo and hu wiring. all depending on where all the wiring is for the speedo and hu. put a meter on your power wire and watch it. then do the same for the speedo. like you said your not hacing voltage problems with headlight dim or anything even with the amps in so with out it your not gonna have problems there but that doesnt mean the speedo or hu isnt shorting out somewhere. if you put a meter on the speedo and watch it when the bass hits and you see voltage drop then that could be the issue. voltage change on the speedo could make it miss read. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
