Nobody is mad over what he said...they are upset at the millions he puts into programs to keep gay marriages illegal and gay reversal therapy.

He gets that money from his business, so they are boycotting the business...

What he said has just brought to light everything else going on.

He was being interviewed by a christian news organization when he said what he said. It wasn't like he was going out of his way to state his beliefs, he was asked about it.

Who cares. In America, you are allowed to donate to whomever you wish. Let them boycott, as been shown here, its actually led to business for the company. I wouldn't have gone to chic-fil-a today had I not seen this story.

you are right, gay people are that pissed simply about what someone said.

it has nothing to do with a person donating millions of dollars to repress the civil rights of gay people that every straight person has in this fucked up country.

Here is my issue. We live in a nation that is PREDOMINANTLY hetrosexual. so what is the issue with donating to charities that help facilitate that. while the underlying goals of some of these organizations may not supportive of civil rights. their mission statements support the morales and beliefs of the the majority of the country. therefore making it (IMHO) completly legitimate for an American company to have supported them at one point in time.

and while the owner of chic-fil-a may have his own views of homosexual rights (an opinion in which everyone is entitled to) i do not think his statement implied that he was against it. only that he was in support of hetrosexual relatiponships. which i see nothing wrong with.

also why should a persons/company's views matter. there are a lot of big companies out there whose views do not align perfectly with everyone or even with the general public but we still use their products.

We are predominantly lots of things in this country, but that doesn't stop us from allowing those who are different from enjoying the same rights. Except in this case, gay people aren't allowed to marry.

This isn't just a case of the company founder disagrees with it, in fact, so do I, I think gay is wrong so I'm not gay. The difference is, I don't spend my money on an organization that tries to keep this right from people. How exactly does it affect (effect?) me if 2 guys go get married?

So again, it isn't about his personal views, but about his pro-active way of imposing his personal views on everyone.
