If you go out and get it done or do it yourself, they'll make you take it off but if the car left the factory like that, then it's legal. I bought my car without tint and asked the dealer if they'd tint it and provide that letter... they said "We can get it tinted but we can't provide that letter" so I decided I'd get it done myself rather than pay the dealer fee for it. Lol. Not sure if the dealer can provide the letter, or it's truly just the factory. But 100% legal in I do believe every state if it comes from the factory like that. I also keep my car clean, free of stickers/decals, and free of flashy rims/exhausts/aftermarket accessories and I think the police appreciate that. My friend is a police officer in my town and he gave me the run down on cop-magnets, or at least little things that tweak him when he's considering pulling someone over: -Colored lights* -Beat up cars -Bad paint -Duct tape/bags on windows -Excessive amounts of stickers -Lowered cars -Performance stickers -Loud exhausts, fart cans in particular -Young drivers -Sunglasses at night -Big rims -Spinners -Wacky paint-jobs -Performance factory trim (SRTs, R-Specs, etc.) *HIDs, colored bulbs that mimic HIDs I'm sure there were a few more.
