Highly considering enlisting. Any advice?

don't know much about it yet since i just recently enlisted, but know what u wanna do goin in there, go in with a positive attitude about EVERYTHING, and make sure you're goin to PT, you don't have to, but they liking knowing you're gonna take the initiative to come anyways. Good luck man, it's not for everybody, but if it is for you, it's something to be very, very proud of.

If you go into the Air Force, stay as far away from the flight line as possible, like others have said, we work more for the same money, and leadership is not the best... As far as deploying, its not that bad. At least from my experience. And yes the Air Force takes good care of their troops as far as physical and mental health goes.

well with the amount of alcohol problems int eh military they've got a good shot at getting that one right.

Flightline work was my favorite to be honest, I was mainly in a shop working and when I got the chance to go out and work on aircraft that was the fun part. Granted it wasn't supposed to be fun, and some days it didn't seem like it but looking back I had a blast doing what I did. And I got to see/touch and work on some of the best aircraft in the world like A-10, F-16,F-15,F-111,F-4,AC-130, F117 and many many more including helicopters. Even got to go inside one of the Air Force 1 jets while it was on base for maintenance one year. Guess it really depends on what you are doing, if you are a mechanic you might hate the flight line.

I wouldn't get your heart to set on a single branch without talking to a recruiter first. With all the drawbacks in spending some of the branches get to be as picky as they want. The AirForce being the pickiest. Then probably the navy then marines and the army will pretty much take anyone.
