NOR CAL COMPETITORS!!!!!!! (2013 update page 6)

Recommended Posts

Strictly looking at distances off the web. San Deigo to sac. 9-ish hours. Seattle, Vegas and Salt lake city all about the same. Even Phoenix is about a 12 hour drive. Now I know these times are estimated. Hell I know my drive to so-cal can add a couple hours depending on traffic.

Now my intention isn't to have a location for something like this in my home town. If anything, it puts me on point to help locate facilities for such an event.

What we need to do is put together a current database of our competitors for every Org. Some formats do better in other areas. Guys in so cal have a good drag base. Wa guys had a shocking amount of SQ cars at IASCA finals. I also looked at AZ and Utah because of their good amount of USACI and now Mike Jaffe's Iasca following.

My agenda is clear. I want to see as many cars for as many formats as I can. If we can pull just 30 cars from every org, it's already a show that would rival any other finals location nation wide.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

I have only one request.

for Autorama 2013, can we have the show Official a few months before. Not 5 minutes before the show, then it is posted on termpro.

Thank You.

Honestly surprised you haven't made your yearly post yet.

Compititor base as I see it so cal mainly db drag and some sq compititors nor cal mainly db drag and sq compititors central cal seems to be all meca spl and a few sq compititors

OR and Wash seem to have a big sq comp base

Have you ever had your woofers blown?

For sure every area has a concentration of competitor base. I really think if we can localize 1 big show, it will allow those who may not have had much action in a format because of lack of shows to now have the chance to jump into more formats. Myself, I like to compete in any format I can, and if given the chance would compete in every class I qualify for at a WCF event.

Lake perris 2013?

would you even go? or are ya coaching on the side lines like allways? ;)

Easy now. Not exactly helping.

I haven't been to Lake Perris so i can't comment about the logistics of it.

I think the guys at LCCA put on a hell of a show. Logistically is the venue big enough to handle both spots for 3 formats of SPL and 2 formats of SQ? For both these formats to work, we need separation of noise. Not exactly an easy task even at a 1x type of event. Another thing to look at is logging. is there anything close by?

I do think the LCCA guys are a great asset to help get an event like this up and going and value their input. I also think anyone who has a concern needs to bring it up. The more eyes we have on this, the better all of us can cover the angles.

I think too long we have expected these ORG's to put something together for us because we have a decent competitor base. I think if we want something nice, we are going to have too put it on ourselves.

Let's also consider what the goal's are for everyone. Some guy's will only compete once or twice, then quite. While other guy's will shot for state final's.Now,what I would suggest,is since final's you need 20 point's,have at least 4 good 3x event's up and down Cali.Maybe,LA area would be one,Bakersfield,Fresno,San Jose, and Redding.I think that would make it fair for everyone and would have more guy's competing. Then still have the 1x point event's wherever is possible. And for State final's,have it located centrally for everyone.Make it a big show, where you'll get people talking about it.I know it's hard to do all this, but not impossible. It would work and I feel, bring more guy's out to the show's.So,who agree's?
