My Ipods gen 1-3 charged off my head until with no problem. now with that newer version of code none of the charge from the head unit. Apple is very rude for taking away a simple feature. I use the full speed cable so I can hide it all in the center console. kickass audio Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 heres how you can revert firmware on the ipod without needing a jailbreak. You first need to lookup the firmware on google for your generation and model ipod. It is a little download that you need to save. Next connect your ipod to your computer then click on it on the left column. Next hold down the shift button on your keyboard and click on the restore button. Next find that file you downloaded earlier and open it. Allow it to dump your ipod completely and install and presto you will have the old firmware back. Just disable automatic updates for it and you will be good.
