Disable the Fasten Seat Belt Warning Chime

The shit just started happening a few days ago, the fasten seat belt warning keeps going off even though the seat belt is fastened. I've checked all wires and connections at the seat and its all good. Doesn't do it every time, probably about 1 of 4 times I get in the car. Google hasn't helped yet, if anybody has a fix please let me know.

I can ask my dad what he did to disable the chime in my car. Ford could be very different from Toyota tho lol

So there are probably wire on the buckle side, probably two of them. If that is the case, they either work by turning on the alarm by shorting them, or opening the circuit like a brake light indicator works. So unplug the wire from the buckle, if it still dings, short it out. Of course you could pull the module from your dash and break the dinger doohicky or unsolder it or w/e.

This.There should be a relay that you can hook a jumper between two terminals and cancel it out. I did it with thedoor chimes on my escort.

This system is not intended to be an annoyance, but rather, a simple reminder. Ford allows you to program this system, officially known as "Belt Minder," on or off, depending on your preferences. The process is slightly different between the eighth and ninth-generation Mustang (1999 to 2004 and 2005 to 2010).

Step 1

Turn the ignition to "On." Wait for the seat belt light to turn off, and then connect and disconnect the seat belt nine times (ending with it disconnected).

Step 2

Wait for the air bag light to turn on, then off.

Step 3

Connect and disconnect the seat belt one time. The system will be disabled

I'm gonna try the one Hunter posted next, and if that doesn't work try to find the relay with the horn on it.

You sure? It said it was for the 9th gen. It had separate instructions for the 99-04 model, something about useing the headlight switch to change settings.

Try to disconnect battery. I dunno. That may help
