Have fun cutting that back wall ... and make sure to round your corners so the acordian boot will fit correctly ...

and please get rid of that finder well trim ...

definitely gonna remove the fender trim. The idea of cutting a big hole in my truck kinda sucks, but its gotta happen.

Yep, Something I really didn't want to do with mine, but I just could not get the output I needed under the rear seat or without yanking the rear seat ...

But it was well worth the trouble, headache, cussing, cuts and bruises when it was all said and done ... LOL

First a simple air intake upgrade : Intake Resonator Removal

Locate Resonator

Now go to Lowes and buy a 2" plumbers cap.

Remove Resonator and add plumbers CAP

I have removed the bench and have jump seats installed on custom brackets. I didnt want to give up the additional seating. I will post pics soon.

I did the same thing to my truck and it was driving so well and my check engine light turned on. What other mods do you guys have done to it?

Completed Mods done to the truck over the years

  • 305 5.0 replaced with a crate 350 330hp 400ftlb torque
  • Auburn Posi with 4:10 gears
  • Shorty headers
  • Full Flowmaster dual exhaust from the headers back
  • 4 burned up 4L60e automatic Tranny's. The "Monster Transmission" exploded
  • 18" Dante Designs wheels licensed with the Cragar Logo. Like only 200 sets were made from what I am told.
  • shaved door handles
  • smoothy front bumper
  • Stillen Phantom grill
  • Airaid intake filter
  • BIG 3 stinger HPM 0/1
  • powermaster 200amp Alt
  • Rear bench replaced with custom mounted fold up jump seats.
  • Billet Dash
  • Belltech 2" 4" drop kit
  • Energy Suspension Polyurathane bushings Body mounts, sway bar, control arm
  • Edelbrock performer IAS shocks
  • 96 computer replaced with 2002 GM 0411 PCM (easier to mod)
  • Dyno tuned
  • Opima Red Top

Sorry I meant to say it wasn't driving well.

When you put the vmax spacer are you going to swap out the poppet 'fuel injection' system?

Did you get your pcm tuned local, I'm in az as well

I have already changed out the crap poppets for the spider injectors. The vmax spacer is a temporary fix to get the motor more air. I want to replace the stock manifold with the marine intake down the road so I get real fuel injectors later (that will be another project).

The old black box PCM and the newer 0411 PCM both got tuned at ADS in Chandler. If you would like to do the PCM swap so you can upgrade to real injectors I can post the links.

I already did the spider injector swap on mine, and I I've been lookin for a 411 pcm but every junk I go someone beats me to it

Do you remember what changes they could do with the black box and how much it was?
