Natsuru
Hey guys, I'm a complete car audio noobie, learning more every day, but I do know a few things about home audio! I've been browsing the home audio section of this site, and i'm a bit distressed by the amount of people using car amplifiers for their rooms. Sure, it will work (probably), but it's also pretty silly to do this... If you live in America, which i'm sure a lot of people do, you might have heard of a little store called Goodwill. What you may not know is that people LOVE to donate old home audio equipment there! So, instead of destroying every old power supply in your home to power that car amplifier, you can run on down to Goodwill with 20 bucks and pick up an actual name brand amplifier (albeit used), and run your speakers like a champ! Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about amazingly awesome finds at our local goodwills I'll start! ------------------------- Sansui 4 channel stereo receiver - 18$ Pioneer tower speakers w/ 12" subs - 9$ Kenwood 4 channel amplifiers - 20$ Sansui Casette decks- 5$ Pretty freaking cool, right? If you luck out, you might even find some Mcintosh or Marantz gear for less than 20$ 2005 VW Jetta TDIStock headunit(2) Sundown Audio E-15s @ 35hzPower Acoustik BAMF 1250.2 (will be replaced with Cadence mono)GTMat 50mil Sound Dampener http://natsurutech.blogspot.com/

Its just what people do. I don't see the big deal. All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 1,000,000 subscribers strong! beaker
I dunno, I have yet to see someone try to put a crown amp in their trunk. I got my current setup (onkyo 7.1 HDMI reciever, and full polk surround setup with powered sub) for 100$ off craigslist. Lady was cleaning out her ex husbands crap and wanted it gone. She said a guy before me came to look at it and didnt buy it because it didnt have a remote. I looked up JUST the subwoofer when I got home and it retailed for 450 new. Silly people. Natsuru
There's nothing necessarily wrong with putting a car amplifier in your house... other than the whole power issue, but hey, if you can get a high quality home amp for 20 bucks, it's pretty nice! I'm actually heading over to Goodwill in the next few days People get new home theater in a box systems from bestbuy, and just throw out all their old stuff I'm specifically looking for gear by Sansui, Nakamichi, and McIntosh.... i'll be sure to post any finds I come across Happy Hunting, SMD Forums 2005 VW Jetta TDIStock headunit(2) Sundown Audio E-15s @ 35hzPower Acoustik BAMF 1250.2 (will be replaced with Cadence mono)GTMat 50mil Sound Dampener http://natsurutech.blogspot.com/

Nobody would put a crown amp in a car because converting DC to AC and buying the crown amp itsself would be more expensive than just getting a good mobile audio amplifier to begin with. People put car amps in houses because it's cheap. $100-200 to power a 500w sub in your house? Why not? BobbyG2
^ It's cheaper to get a home amp for your home than it is to properly power a car amp in your home. It might actually be cheaper to put a home amp in your car than a car amp in your home, they got some pretty badass DC to AC inverters: http://www.harborfre..._CategoryExpand I'm trying to find a high-amperage AC to 12v DC converter, to compare prices, but can't find anything more than 133 amps... :/ *New vehicle and system coming soon.*
