Illinois is messed up. Guy told me there is a 6 month wait for processing right now because hoards of people are getting their cards.

im not really caught in the hype. I think is just time that I have my self prepared for what ever may come.

You all seem to think that your leaders are tyrants that need to be kept in line by giving the population guns. That is pathetic for so many reasons.

Firstly it would be impossible for a "militia" to rise up because out of 320+ million maybe 100,000 are fanatical enough to take up arms and they would just been seen as a terrorist group even by 80% of the population.

Governments are changed by voting booths not guns.

Laws need to be changed and updated for societies to develop and laws are not just made in a democracy they need to be voted on.

Our economy is stronger, our crime rate is much lower, our suicide rate is much lower, people dont get killed while at our schools anywhere near as much.

5# Can you explain what was wrong with canadas health system i know little of it. our system works like this.

All citizens of Australia are given access to the medicare system for free.

With the medicare system you can claim almost all things medical related back such as tablets, doctors, surgery.

if i go to my pharmacy and buy some medication that costs $50 I can then claim that with medicare and get something like $20 back.

The same goes for seeing specialist doctors however there is a much longer waiting list to see one if you do not have private healthcare.

All doctors must see a certain number of medicare patients a year.

Basically our medicare works exactly like our private healthcare only there are longer waiting lists for things like surgery.

Also our medical procedures are much cheaper than in america, I personally had a full knee construction and only payed $6000 of which i got back $4000 on my top of the line private cover that only costs me $1800 a year.

Our best private health care is under $3000 a year. Whats yours?

6# The fact i do not live there means i am more qualified than you to have an opinion on it. I am a 3rd party that can look at your system objectively and compare it to other systems objectively.

If i could change one thing in america it would be to make voting compulsary for everyone over 18 like it is in the rest of the world. Your system of it being optional means that only people who feel strongly about things actually take the time to do it.

If 60% of your population dont care about what they do with guns and 30% would rather them removed but at the end of the day they don't feel strong enough about it to go stand in line for hours.

Then the 10% of people who are red neck gun fanatics would be standing in like to vote because they feel strong about it and have something to lose, then despite that they are actually the smaller number they will still win.

That is where your democracy system is broken.

Flame me if you want but i am merely speaking my mind as an observer who has been watching the american legal system like a bad sitcom for the last 10 years.

In japan 11 people were killed by guns in 1 year. Population 127mil

In america 11,000 people were killed by guns in 1 year. Population 310mil

Is your 2nd Amendment good enough to pay for it with 11,000 innocent lives a year?

I just got back from my local range and damn their shelves are BARE!!! I think I may have seen 1 AR left on the wall, maybe 3 glocks left, and no springfield XD or XDm. The only thing that had not been completely picked though were the 1911s.

All the Obama has managed to do with this is probably increase gun sales by 300% or more!

I think I found a logical compromise

We all agree that psychotic people should not own guns?

We all agree that the psychiatric evaluation for gun owners is a good idea?

Well, what if we just kept all of these guns legal, and just used a thorough and comprehensive evaluation for potential gun buyers?

That seems fair enough to both sides, correct?

The only question that remains

If they gave such an evaluation to existing gun owners, and one of you did not pass the evaluation, and were FAIRLY deemed unfit to posses one of these weapons, would you be ok with it?

I think this resolution should allow ample freedom to everyone involved
