How many layers was this? That's four layers of fabric. It could probably be done with three layers, but I like to make things stout. My goal was to be at or under 3 pounds even, but I don't think I will make that AND have the glossy finish. That gloss probably adds 6-8 ounces per side I would guess. With just three layers and no gloss, I bet it would be close to 2 pounds!!! Dzus fasteners is usually how most guys mount carbon fiber seats. I wasn't real happy with how the mold acted with the first seat I did, and I decided to redo it. Well, what started as a quick fix has turned into a three day project. The mold is now just about ready to make seats again. It just needs to sit overnight allowing the top finish coat to dry so I can wet sand and buff it tomorrow. As you can see in the pic below, even before wet sanding and buffing, the finish is already quite glossy! I can't wait to pull the next seat off this mold! Carbon is all laid up, resin is dry, just gonna wait until tomorrow morning to give it extra curing time.
