littlehitter
Well what was getting me stuck was my amps ratings. 1800 at one ohm and 750 at 4. Ive read it does rated but we'll see when I get a clamp on it. 1800 @1 is only 43 volts and 750@4 is 54 volts. Im gonna check but I would assume the 1800 rating is closest and if I try to squeeze 750 oit of it at 4 ohms it would clip the hell out of the signal Current System: Clarion CZ702 Stock 5 channel amplifier Infinity Reference 4022i 4" GRS 6.5" Audiopipe 1800.1 2 RE Audio SEX V2's In a 4th order ported though the armrest 2003 130 Amp Toyota Highlander alternator
Lbox88
You're not getting it either. No one is saying use the DD1, don't get caught in the anti SMD wave. It cannot and will not show clipping. Feel free to Google USAampfreaks post, of course you can use the chart. But if there are better options now, why not use them? Last I checked no one still rode wagons. Technology changes Amish people UBL | Build Log

Noel989
The way I see it first use the dd-1 to you find your max unclipped signal Then use the dmm to adjust or seeing were your at if you feel te need to lower then do but not add more to the gain since you already found your max unclipped signal Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
CleanSierra
Regardless of how you set your gains, those subs WILL NOT HANDLE TWICE THE RATED power. Here is a pic of what happens to SRx 12s on double their rated CLEAN power: The surrounds ripped themselves apart. The coils still looked shiny and great, but the soft parts did NOT like that much power. Run them at 4 ohms they will sound fine Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. littlehitter
I already contacted fixmyspeaker about recones lol. Just waiting on a reply now. What size coil does the srx have? meade916
the reason that chart is not really helpful is because the entire object of setting a gain is to match the amp's input to the deck's output. How does that chart determine what point your DECK is distorting? What about the epicenter that you have in between the deck and the amp? or the line driver? Picture this. You are using an adjustable LOC tapped into the factory wire (most have gains right on them), with RCA out to the amp. You have your handy chart for the amp output but do you know where the gains on the LOC distort or clip at? Nope. Most are DIRTY DIRTY DIRT-MCGIRT so if you turn the gain up even a little bit on a cheap one, you are already in full distortion. BET. Now you still have your handy chart, but now you have a deck and an LOC that you don't know where they distort....so the amp chart is kinda out the window. To me, its useless. If you are a DD-1 hater, fine. Get an O'scope. DMM, nope. All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! C-Fizzy
He said he's going to tune it with a dd-1, but he wants to use a multimeter to make sure he's not sending too much power to his subs lol under construction I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me. u hate c-fizzy?
