One runner took a pic after the explosion and it shows everybody running except for the suspect in the white hat who is just walking casually away

EDIT: CNN now saying the suspect in the MIT officer shooting is dead and 2nd suspect on the run is also the suspect in the Boston bombing

Not trying to be mean or anything but when will people learn? Big events (NYC Marathon, Boston marathon, superbowl, ect ect) are prime candidates for terrorism. Things like 9/11 was too random to really know about. But the Boston marathon? Huge popular race. You have to beef up security whether that means scanning every single person in so they can be next to the race or whatnot. Is it a pain? Without a doubt. But, it's helping you avoid....this. Would you rather have spent an hour or whatever it'd be in a security line getting scanned and screened and living your perfectly normal life or would you rather have lost your life/limbs/get hurt? I'll take the first choice.

I've always hated being in groups of people. That's why. You just never know. I do feel bad for all the victims and such, but quite frankly, that's the risk anyone takes when they step out in a big crowd.

I'm not sure what type of security measures there are/were for the marathon but if there were any, besides just barriers, it shows that things need to be vamped up. Just me or was 9/11 not enough of a wake up call? I mean we're still over there in a war... over a decade later. People hate us. You can't stop everything but I personally think security needs to be tight as hell around public events of that magnitude. You have a better chance of sniping a nfl player on a team bus than even just bringing in a gun to an arena and that's all my point is. Just beef up security. After 9/11, when you could fly again, how hard was security? Definitely a nightmare. Still is in a sense.

But all in all, I do feel bad for the victims as no one would've ever really thought that'd happen.

Yeah I heard they tried to rob a 7-11, killed an MIT officer, carjacked somebody, got in a shootout and critically injured another officer while also using explosive devices. 2nd suspect won't get far though. Probably won't even make it out alive to face justice.

^^What he said, they have a 20 block area on complete lockdown right now that they think he is still in. They carjacked a person with a Mercedes SUV, told him they were the Boston bombers and kicked his ass out.

They were also saying this morning that while trying to evade police, they were seen tossing explosives out of the window of the stolen vehicle.
