if they are facing opposite ways you would have to reverse polarity on one of them

Joking right? Only if one sub is inverted. Just because they are on seperate baffles does not mean you reverse polarity on one. That would make it some kind of isobaric enclosure or something then. I could put four subs on four different sides of an enclosure...all wired identical.

not joking.

think about it.

he just said they were moving at different times.

if one sub is facing one way and other is facing opposite. they both throw same way if hooked up same. that means they would be fighting eachother.

think about it before calling me out.

im not sayign this will solve his problem. but you cant just put s sub on each side of the box and wire them normal

???what am I missing here. Why would you run one wire normal and run the other opposite? So what do people with subs on top of their enclosure and side do? Why would you wire put of phase on one? He said they are moving ...ahhh fuck I missed that..he said they are moving same direction. That could mean both ways. I think op needs to explain if they are in phase with eachotherbor not. I guess its possible his pos/neg on subs is wrong.

If you reverse the polarity they would end up "free airing."

Don't do that. I can go into detail if needed, but the short answer is don't.

If you have switched the subs and they are still doing it, what comes to mind is a box issue. A loose glue joint will cause the issue you are experiencing. Do you have clamps? Try clamping the front of the box tight in a couple different spots

What jumps out to me is 2 things. 1: the gap right here. And 2: no reinforcing on the kerf cuts. Both could cause a buzzing/slapping sound at the right frequency / volume

I will examine the box tomorrow when he comes back over tomorrow. The box has been fiberglassed on the inside of the kerf. I know the polarity is not supposed to be reversed lol. The kerf is by far the strongest part of the box!

maybe i need to learn something. but literally if a sub is backwards they would be working against one another wouldnt they?

edit: i just drew it out. makes sense to me that they should be wired the same. sorry if i sounded like a dick chris.

No worries. I thought I was missing something lol.

I think we all still agree it sounds like a box problem or maybe somthing else,,,but not subs.

Is it possible that you or a friend put something in a storage compartment like the 1 circled or dropped something on the floor and that's what's rattling? Sorry I might be thinking too simple but I'm starting with the easy solutions.

Also, does it rattle at any volume as long as it's 60Hz or only at louder volumes? Test that
