Im not trying to knock anything but Steve there needs to be a POST count or something these days especially if your going off IP due to the face there are millions of places with Free Wifi and that shows a diff IP

I would second this. Maybe something like a 300 minimum post count to run for SOTM and 150 to vote.

or a waiting period. but I think it works well how it is. One major reason for SOTM is to draw members to the site. Restricting participation in SOTM kinda goes against that.

and yes, we will be having at least a small post count in order to vote. I don't think it will be 300. In fact, it might even be 1 post. Just enough for someone to introduce themselves. This way if i see Razon's "girlfriend" posting, saying "hi fella's" or something like that, i would at least be more comfortable that it is HER and not his "other" account. Even with her vote not counting, he still wins though if i am reading right.

the thing is, we have a lot of people who lurk, and read this forum but don't post for one reason or another. I have had several over the years that been here the entire time and only made 1 post, but still lurk.

so 300 is kinda tough. We will figure something out....but also, no matter what, PST is the cutoff time.

I dont mind the lurkers voting. SOTM is a great tool to welcome new ones to the forum. (cheaters are different)

The supporting member, would be more likley to know the builds through and through. Just a thought.

I think we can all appreciate how SOTM brings in new members, but having a system that's easily cheated kinda kills the whole buzz about it. Glad something's gonna be done about it... I think a membership at least 20 days old to vote should do it, just my 0.02
