Hey people Im going to be getting 24's for my 2005 chevy silverado and I am limited on how much I can drop it. The kit im getting is 2" in the front and 4" in the rear. I dont need to be tucking but I HATE the look when people throw on wheels and dont touch the suspension. Just getting opinions.

If you don't get aftermarket shocks designed for lowered vehicles your rides going to suffer, since your stock shocks will be partially compressed giving you less travel to absorb the impact. You will also want to trim your bump-stop so you aren't continuously bottoming out.

are you doing just a drop or are you getting different shocks and shit too? I have 20's with pretty soft shocks and i will NEVER again get rims the ride is horrible compared to the stock tires and rims.

I will definatly get new shocks designed for the drop. I'm hoping since its a minimal lowering kit it won't be to much stress on anything

The biggest thing to worry about when lowering trucks is drive shaft pinion angle. If you have access/own a angle finder check before drop and after, and depending on how much it changed you may want to buy shims to correct the pinion angle. If left uncorrected you'll wear out your U-joints a lot quicker among other things.

no no no, do front spindle, I have the same truck except coils. spindle always over springs or keys, keeps the stock ride. and make sure you have the correct backspacing

Get ahold of my boy Norcalss on the gmfullsize forum and he can get you squared away with the correct drop kit with the best price. Trust me he's a cool ass guy. Also it depends on the offset of the wheels if they will "tuck" or not.
