Karkov
Someone above talked above using RF constant power amps which would help with rise, then others talked about dropping OHM load to combat it as well. I am running 2 RF sub amps that are rated at 2500 RMS watts @2 OHMs (stable to 1 ohm)......so does this mean I will see more rise due to running at 2 ohm instead of 1 ohm OR since they are constant power amps it will minutely affect it? Honestly, I'm not real concerned about box rise, and I admit i know virtually nothing about it, but I am curious for my scenario exactly what the outcome could/would be for rise. make sense? Thanks in advance The constant power amps do rated at both 1 and 2 ohms. Wiring down to 1ohms could gain a slight amount if power but it won't be a whole lot. If you can wire down to 1ohm for the slight increase in power and it might lower the box rise but I can't say that for sure t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. I am running them at 2 ohm because although rated down to 1 ohm I *think* they are more efficient at 2 ohms? Percent wise i mean, etc.? But i could be wrong, or possibly draw less power? Again could be wrong, lol 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. bkolfo4
DO NOT WORRY ABOUT "IMPEDANCE RISE" FOR A MUSIC OR DAILY SYSTEM. THE SUB HAS A NATURAL RISE AT ITS REAONANT FREQUENCY EVEN WHILE IT IS NOT IN A BOX, BUT IT IS NOT SOMETHING YOU NEED TO ADJUST FOR OR WORRY ABOUT. BUILD A BOX BASED ON THE SUB AND FREQUENCY RESPONSE DESIRED, THEN SELECT A SUBWOOFER WITH THE CORRECT IMPEDANCE TO MATCH THE AMP YOU PLAN TO USE. IF YOU WANT MORE POWER, BUY A BIGGER AMP. I wish there was a clearer way to say it, but I guess there is not since it has been said a million times.
