Ground noise from sundown 200.4?

Recommended Posts

it was fixed by turning the gain way down, but now ive lost a lot of clean output from the amp, what could be causing this issue? maybe the HU?

but wouldnt i be getting more ground noise then just from my 4 ch?

Start at the amp and work your way to the front.

With everything off pull the rca's from the amp, then turn it all back on and see if the noise is still there, if not then the problem is further up. If the problem is there with the rca's out of the amp then the problem is at the amp.(ground, ect.)

If you have no noise then put the rca's back in the amp with everything off. Then pull the rca's from the hu with everything off, then turn it all on and see if you have the noise. If no noise then the problem is at the hu. If you have the noise the problem is with the rca's.

ground headunit to the frame, add an extra ground if necessary, ground RCA's to the headunit itself like so 644225.jpg

make sure grounds at the amp are solid, still having issues? consider swapping out RCA's, at that point i'd look into it being an issue with the amp or an alternator issue, ohhh and I realized you're running a pioneer headunit, it could quite possibly be a blown pico fuse.
