Krakin
These things. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/171708-fact-and-science-have-no-place-in-car-audio/ 1 Quote Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. 321slapinbass
mix mdf sawdust with wood glue to make your own mdf putty. or if you have a little gap / crack then apply glue directly into the gap and lightly sand the surface around it and on top of it, the saw dust will work its way into the gap and stick to the glue creating a natural filler. when the glue dries the filled area should be hard as a rock. 1 Quote 2000 Dodge Durango Subs - (2) SKAR VVX 15 D2's Box - 7.2 ft^3 @ 33hz, 120 in of port Sub amp - Digital Designs M2 @ .5 ohm Mids + Highs - PRV Audio Mids + Highs amp - Hifonics 2000.4 Headunit - Alpine CDE-100 Equalizer - Clarion EQS746 Batteries - Mopar group 27 + (2) C&D 52ah Wiring - 1/0 BIG 3, (2) runs 1/0 Alternator - Singer 250A 147.79 dB @ 35hz - burp - sealed on dash 147.47 dB @ 35hz - music - sealed on dash YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/user/321slapinBass/videos
Wicks
Use a small power resistor inline with your power wire to charge up your amplifier's internal capacitors to avoid the dreaded blue arc that scares the crap out of you when you're trying to connect the power wires. 1 Quote This post sent with 100% recycled electrons. 2004 BMW M3Mechman 280A 2 - XS Power XP30001 - XS Power D375 500F of Maxwell SuperCaps (soon to be 1000F) iPadMini2Dash mounted O-scopeAudison bitOne (Remote DRC MP) Highs Amp - PPI Art A404 Hertz HSK130 (HSK165 waiting...) Wicks
If you have subwoofers/speakers with spring terminals: Install banana plug terminals on the ends of the wires, then insert the banana connector into the speaker terminal rather then trying to twist and jam the wire into the terminals and ending up with messy wire strands sticking out and possibly shorting together. IMO, Those spring terminals may say 8ga but they sure don't fit 8ga very well. Especially in a tight corner of a subwoofer enclosure where you don't have room to get your hands and twist the wire. Another tip that could go along with this............buy your speakers with direct-leads!
