beaner_man Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Hello, I am getting a 320A alt to run with my new setup (X2 FI Audio team 15 subs, X2 Crescendo BC3500D amps) and I am wondering what size of fuse I am suppose to put between my alt and battery? And help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

bbeljefe Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 If your regulator or PCM fails (which has happened to me) the alternator will send about 50 volts through anything that's not fused. Fuses are WAY less expensive than fire trucks. EDIT: And to the OP's question... fuse to protect the wire and if your system draws more than one run of 1 or 2/0... add another run and another fuse rated to protect the second wire. john253a Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 doesnt go high enough for your need but you should get the point of the length and cable size determine the amperage that the cable can handle and for 320 youll need 2 runs of 1/0 or a single 2/0 or up
