difference between a regular box for a trunk and a box for a blow through

Give sufficient port area. Don't have the subs firing into the port. Those are two pieces of advice. How many subs do you plan on running and what size? Bracing the back of the cab around where you cut may be necessary. Have you ever designed a bandpass enclosure before?

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

I would say a 4th order is a 4th order, but I have never done a blowthrough.

^^^A 4th order and a 4th order bandpass area two different things though.

A single reflex bandpass is typically what most people consider a 4th order. A normal vented enclosure is also a 4th order, only it's called a bass reflex 4th order. So, generally speaking, a 4th is not simply, just a 4th.

OP, you will want to do a single reflex bandpass style enclosure probably. It will yield the smallest hole you need to cut into the cab. A normal vented(4th order) will be a big hole because basically the entire face of the baffle.

What kind of enclosure style you choose well be based on the subwoofer and what kind of enclosure IT prefers. The EBP, EFFICIENCY BANDWIDTH PRODUCT will determine what sort of environment the subwoofer will like. You may need to do a 4th order bandpass, you may have to do a 6th order. Neither of these enclosure styles are easy to design and typically require tweaking. Most won't nail it on the first or even second try

What subs did you plan on using?
